What the Safety1stQR app collects, why, and who it's shared with — in plain language.
Last updated: 19 August 2026
Safety1stQR ("the App") is built by Safe Orbit Technologies to connect bystanders with a vehicle owner's emergency contacts during a roadside incident. This page explains what data we collect across the App and the public scan page, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is written to align with Google Play's Data Safety disclosure requirements.
| Data type | Collected from | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Phone number (for OTP login) | Vehicle owners & emergency contacts | Account authentication via Firebase Auth |
| Name & emergency contact details | Vehicle owners | Routing alerts to the correct contacts |
| Vehicle details & QR serials | Vehicle owners | Linking a scanned sticker to the right profile |
| Precise location | Bystander, at time of scan (opt-in) | Sharing incident location with emergency contacts |
| Photos | Bystander, at time of scan (opt-in) | Providing visual context of the incident |
| Call metadata (masked call routing) | Bystander & emergency contact | Connecting a call without exposing either real number |
| Device push token (FCM) | Emergency contact's device | Delivering emergency alerts reliably |
| App diagnostics & crash logs | All app users | Fixing bugs and improving reliability |
Data is shared only as needed to operate the emergency alert flow:
Account and vehicle data is retained as long as your account is active. Scan-time location and photo data is retained only as long as needed to support the emergency alert and is not kept indefinitely. You can request account and data deletion at any time by contacting us at the email below.
Data is stored using Firebase's security infrastructure with role-based access rules, so that emergency contact information is only readable by authorized accounts. Calls are routed through masked telephony so real phone numbers are never exposed to the other party.
Safety1stQR is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
